Cameron Putters...The Top Choice Of More Winners On The PGA TOUR!
Different golfers require putters of different lengths, weights, body and neck configurations, however, most putter heads are only weighted for 35-inch shafts and therefore, are much too light for shorter lengths, or too heavy for longer lengths. Too often the same heads are placed in shafts of all lengths. The result is the golfer having to hit at the ball instead of being able to stroke the ball, and that creates distance control problems. The Studio Select putter line delivers a wide range of specifications and options, designed to accommodate a wider range of golfer requirements.

Newport 2 34" Model

Honestly not a great deal, other putters perform the same for less that being said I don't regret it.

Great all around putter that is extreamly solid. Great feel and touch. Putter is to light after I cut it down a few inches and the cameron custom shop is to expensive. Just bought some lead tape and will put it on instead.

Cons:
price, but you get what you pay for.

the first thing i noticed about the midslant putter was the feel and perfect balance with each stroke and pure rolls. The best putter i've ever had.

Beautiful putter, great feel....

by sti23 on October 16, 2009
Pros:
Nice to look at.
Great metal finish.
Cons:
Too expensive.
Rating:
I bought this putter trying to find a replacement for my Pro-Platinum.
I was immediately attracted to the looks. It's a Scotty!
I bought the Newport 2 in a 35" with standard weight.
It hit the ball very nicely with a nice feel and nice sound.
However, I don't know if this putter is worth the money. I couldn't find any differences between this and my Pro-Platinum. Maybe it's because the Pro-Platinum is that good, or the Newport 2 is not worth it. I couldn't really find out the real reason.
In the end, I ended up returning it and just stuck with my Pro-Platinum. For me, it just wasn't worth the money.

Solid Putter from Scotty, has the looks and performance

by destard on November 03, 2009
Pros:
Milled face, custom options, adjustable weighting, solid feel and roll
Cons:
High price, custom shop is too expensive, not made of carbon steel.
Rating:
I had two of these for awhile. A Newport 1.5 and Newport 2, both in 34" length. They were very good on the greens and I beleive the 1.5 just fit my eye better maybe because the head is slightly smaller and loved the half neck. Had some very good putting stats with these as if it didn't go in, it was close. It did take practice on the greens to get there, but these putters will not let you down. I found C&L putters and well, the Scotty's were sold and the C&L is in the bag for good. At a price that starts out a little cheaper than the Studio Select and you get all the customization you want along with an iomic grip, you can't go wrong. The feel is amazing although it is carbon compared to SS. Just my two cents, try before you buy and exhaust all your options, but if you get a scotty and come across the custom carbon putter scene, you will likely get a good resale value on the Scotty as they are very popular.

Newport 2 studio select midslant

by SCOTT4099 on November 05, 2009
Pros:
Feel, weight, look, distance control
Cons:
price, price, price
Rating:
I have had this putter on and off for about a year. I have tried many other high MOI mallets feeling as if I was giving putts away to my playing partners. But after trying 2 ball, sabertooth, spider etc, I cannot argue woth the consistant distance control of this putter. I learned the hard way that this should be in my bag for some time...

Newport Buttonback

by Hungsolo on November 06, 2009
Pros:
Looks great, feels great
Cons:
Expensive
Rating:
Favorite Cameron I've had. Copper insert looks pretty. I don't think it changes the feel from the other Studio Selects that I've had. Nice, heavy head with great milling and solid feel.

Newport 2

by paulistagolf on November 09, 2009
Pros:
it's a Cameron
Cons:
Overpriced.
Rating:
Good overall. I had the Newport 2, 35". Gamed it for about six months before switching to a Ping Anser2. It's a good putter but I was more worried about scratching it than putting my ball. Not impressed.

Scotty Cameron Squareback

by artforbrains on November 14, 2009
Pros:
Solid design, great weight and feedback.
Cons:
Would be nice in alternate finishes.
Rating:
Solid putter with great design. Nice perspective at address. Extended sightline and weight promotes good follow through and putting stroke. Would be nice in alternate finishes like black, etc. Club design and markings are great for personal customization with paint fills, flaming, etc.

33/350 LH

by MatthewT on November 17, 2009
Pros:
- One of the nicest putters out there visually
Cons:
- red cord grip wore way to quickly and is very slick
Rating:
this was my first scotty that I owned. I wanted to see what the crave was about. I used this for probably my first 30 rounds last season, then switched with the itsy bitsy and got better results. It wasn't because the scotty was bad just that the itsy had better results. I use the scotty off and on and I am pretty good with it from 10 - 20 feet, but struggle with the short ones, espically in tournments.

Point and shoot with a Squareback

by volrus on November 17, 2009
Pros:
Alignment, look at address, weight
Cons:
Harsh feel, head cover, grip
Rating:
I had a squareback for almost a full season and really liked it for the most part. It set up perfectly behind the ball to give you that point and shoot confidence. I also really liked the weight of the putter. However, I was disappointed with the feel of the putter when making contact. I thought it was a little too harsh and not soft enough for my taste. I really thought with a milled putter I would be getting a softer feel. Also, the standard grip is terrible! It didn't really have any tackiness to it at all so I changed it out to an Iomic. The head cover was great in terms of the look and functionality, but I was very disappointed that the cover faded very quickly and the once red dots quickly became orange...not good when you consider the cost of the putter!

Scotty Cameron Studio Select Squareback #1

by TitleistMuscleback on November 18, 2009
Pros:
Great feel from the 303 stainless head
Cons:
The only thing I did not like about the squarback was the OTR grip.
Rating:
Finish of the 303 stainless head is very pleasing to the eye. Mallet players may really like this one as well as fans of the newport 2 . Headcover is great also.

Newport 2.7

by aveb4life on November 18, 2009
Pros:
Thick Topline, great weight, sound and feel perfect
Cons:
club turns without steady hand
Rating:
I have a Newport 2.7 from the custom shop. Custom shop mid size grip, orange transluscent paintfill and custom shaft band. I love the feel, weight and sound (like a click) to this putter. problem is i feel like the variance of the face turning before hitting is easy. Therefore alignment can change by even a few degrees before hitting. might be because of the double bend hosel. however, i do like how you see more of the ball at address with the 2.7.

Love this putter!

by pacificdunes on November 19, 2009
Pros:
superb putter, good looks, great feel
Cons:
price
Rating:
not sure what's with all the hate for cameron these days. Everyone seems to buy lesser know putters and equates that to having a superior putter than Camerons. The fact is if you hit the sweet spot on the studio select, there is nothing better out there. There is some cachet with paying over $500 for those boutique custom makes out there and I can't figure out why anymore.

Squareback 1 review

by Guest on July 30, 2010
Pros:
Easy to align
Forgiving
Easy to judge pace
Feel
Makes lots of putts!
Cons:
I wasn't keen on the original grip
Price but you get what you pay for
Rating:
I have always been a mallet fan but sometimes I can get a bit distracted by the size of some putters behind the ball. For me this is a perfect size with easy to align shape. Its the first non insert mallet I have owned and I love how consistent the ball comes off the face, so easy to predict. This putter rolls the ball very nicely, not as nice as some of the grooved putters but I have no complaints, the ball goes the exact distance I expect it to be reach when taking my practice strokes. I wasn't keen on the stock grip so replaced with my favorite grip an Iomic, now love the putter even more. For me this putter is the real deal but putters are very personal and I know from the shape its not going to please everyone.

by dgarland on July 02, 2011
Pros:
great set up, good feel, consistent results
Cons:
none at present
Rating:
The one thing that I really like about this particular model that no one else has mentioned is the high toe in this putter. Lots of people, me included, raise the toe of their putter up for some reason at address and this causes lots of pulled putts. This putter is made with a high toe so if you are used to raising the toe at address this one will sit square and still have the look of the toe being up in the air. I don't think I've ever putted with anything better.
