We might have the driver of the year here. Go and talk to the nearest fitting studio that has all the launch monitors and ask them what is the best performer this year. On that short list you will hear TaylorMade Superfast more often than not.

Been testing this SuperFast (SF) for a while now and we love it. The first time you see the head it will catch you by surprise with all the graphics on the top and the triangular shape that makes this head look like it was brought back from the future. Getting beyond the look and hitting a few balls you will quickly forget the fact it doesn't look traditional. This Driver is the real deal.

I was tipped off earlier this year by a lead fitting tech that works with Tour Pros and normal weekend golfers. He asked me if I have hit the new SuperFast yet and I said not yet. He than rolled his eyes and said "it's good". Now I know what he meant. In short it is long and straight and sounds awesome. Coming off of a driver that was 440cc's the SuperFast wasn't as easy to work right to left or left to right. However the head did keep me in the fairway more and for that reason I liked it more. Distance was equal within reason. Every once in a while I was able to get a hold of the smaller driver just right and hit it a country mile but the SuperFast (SF) was so straight it allows me to step on it knowing the chances would be good I would be ok. Confidence plays such a big role in driving and that is another bonus with the SF.

The feel will surprise you. A tour rat said it was like hitting an old persimmon with a touch of a tin sound. Crack it what comes to mind. Hard to think a titanium driver that has such a tall face can make such a muted sound. Bravo to TaylorMade for the performance they packed in this head.

I prefer the Non TP head for the larger sized face and the shape of the head. But if you like a smaller footprint and an all black look go with the TP. I would hit them both and see which one fits your swing first.

This head is in the running for the driver of the year. Highly recommended.

1. Inverted Cone Technology has been incorporated into every TaylorMade® driver since the R500 SeriesTM.

Pros:
LONG, longer and longest comes to mind. Sound and flight are perfect

Have all the drivers within reach and the superfast is in the bag for now. Have to say the retail non TP has a deep face that is a true performer. The unique top view was first blush different but that went away after a couple of good drives.

Great head and honestly could be the hottest driver of the year.
