Play with Power and Precision
Once again, Callaway has made a giant technological leap forward with Forged Composite. This new material developed in collaboration with Lamborghini is lighter, stronger than titanium and allows Callaway engineers to position weight exactly where it maximizes power and distance. Over 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers provide the strength needed to withstand the violent impact between the Hyperbolic Face and the golf ball. And with a head shape 43% more aerodynamic than its predecessor and the longer Aldila RIP shaft, swing speeds are faster for even more distance.
- Forged Composite™: Revolutionary new material in the sole and crown that’s lighter, stronger than titanium. Over 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers comprise 67% of the clubhead and allow Callaway engineers to precisely control weight like never before. The lighter clubhead enables the use of a longer shaft for faster swing speed and longer distance without compromising forgiveness.
- Hyperbolic Face Technology™: Chemical milling process selectively removes excess material for precision thickness control across the face, producing consistently high ball speeds for long distance.
- Aerodynamic Head Shape: Streamlined surface contours reduce energy loss from drag during the downswing by 43% compared to the FT-9® Driver, creating higher impact speeds for added distance.
- RAZR Weighting System: Select drivers are available in either Draw or Neutral configurations, allowing you to find the model that works best with your typical ball flight.
- Aldila® RIP™ Shaft: High performance graphite gives better players the ideal performance and feel they want with lower torque and better tip stability.

I know better, but I fell for it anyway. Hit about 4 balls at a demo day and convinced myself this driver would be a significant upgrade from my FTiz. Bought an 8.5 with a RIP "S". First time on the golf course I knew this driver had issues about 4 holes in. The RIP shaft is not good at all. I would bet the only thing this shaft has in common with a real RIP is the name. And that's a shame because I think there is some real potential with this golf club. To be specific about this stock club's performance, the dispersion is not good....missing fairways both left and right. Shaft feels very mushy torsionally, and soft flexurally as well. Also this stock set up appears to be about 20 yards shorter than my FTiz which is shafted with an authentic Project X graphite.
Be advised the stock RIP shaft, and obviously the hosel bore is .350. Another anomaly I don't understand.
I will say the story is not over yet. The stock club was immediately disassembled. It is now on the bench drying with a Voodoo NV .335 loaded in it. I am hoping this will make a tremendous positive change in the performance of this RAZR Hawk.
Listen, I'm not calling out Callaway or Aldila, either. All club companies and shaft companies engage in this name dropping shell game. They claim the stock shaft is high end, but in reality it is a budget graphite made using the same design, or some design feature. Everybody's entitled to make a buck. But, get this through your head.....the only way to get real high performance graphite is to order it custom. Sadly, $399 for a driver won't get you the performance the club company wants you to believe is built in.
Hope this helps someone. The RAZR Hawk Tour is a nice looking, nice sounding golf club. Hopefully, a shaft change will bring the performance around. If it does, my rating of this club doubles to 4 STARS immediately. But off the rack, it's a deuce at best. OUT.....

Tested this club against the White TaymorMade driver at our club's demo day a week or so ago. Hit 5 drives with each using a launch monitor. Eleminating the shortest on both, the RAZR was 20 yrs longer! Hard to believe, so called a friend over and he tried the same test. His were only 15 yards longer. Really wanted to buy the R11, liked the white. But bought the RAZR. Only played one round so far, but it seems to be holding up to the test. If you buy, check out Golfsmith pre-owned. A lot of these have been making the rounds on demo days, so you can get a good deal.

My previous drivers have all been Taylormade. I was pretty much set on the r11 tp until i saw the results of the razr hawk tour. Never been a callaway guy but the mishits are so much more minimized than any driver ive had before and not only did it outperform the r11 tp but it did so by a longshot. Night and day. Please be more openminded and don't just go with taylormade because of all the hype

Pros:
Very forgiving, long, Sounds good
Cons:
Maybe cut it to 45"

I usually like to keep all the same brands in my bag. I have moved on to finding the best performers for me for each club and oh boy I found a driver in the Razr Tour w/RIP 60 s. Hit about 50 drives over 2 days with the club and it is as long for me as any other out there but much more forgiving. I have hit the R11 tp, Superfast 2.0 TP, 910 D2 RIP, G15 and by far the Razr gives me the best flight (mid) and accuracy with good distance. The balls I hit on the toe and heel were just about as long as center strikes with minimal left right misses. I think cutting it to 44.75 would make this club even more accurate.
Sound is more of a solid thwack than a tingy metalic sound.
You should give this a shot and by shot I mean a good 40 drives and go back and forth between your current driver..
My SS is 99 and index is 6
Cheers'
