Product Details
Product Description
PERFORMANCE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN.
With a classic pear profile, deep face, and 440cc titanium construction, the Titleist 909D3 is a high performance driver delivering mid launch with low spin.
The 909D3 features a tour proven, modern profile that creates a low and deep CG for reduced spin, higher MOI, and longer, straighter drives. The classic pear shape with a smaller, deeper face enhances workability for shot and trajectory control.
The tuned sole of the 909D3 includes optimized pockets and an internal rib for reduced vibration, providing solid feel and better sound.
An integrated titanium blind bore hosel design saves weight, provides solid feel, and allows for more shaft options. The factory installed SureFit Swingweight Screw helps to position the CG deep while also providing a precise head to shaft match.

Great Driver!

by daheels on October 06, 2009
Pros:
Great feel, workable and long.
Cons:
A little less forgiving than the other 909 drivers
Rating:
Have played this driver for the full 2009 season and it is by far the longest driver I have ever hit. I have previously owned the Titleist 983K and 905T and this is by far my favorite. Find the right shaft for this club and it will be a bomber.

Great driver for those who need it

by quantim0 on November 02, 2009
Pros:
Long, low spin and launch
Cons:
Stock shafts are lacking, open face can exagerate slice
Rating:
This driver is great for the golfer that needs what it provides. A low launching, low spinning head. This is what I needed as most other drivers cause me to lose distance due to ballooning. This driver with the Diamana shaft lowered my ball flight and allowed me to gain significant difference.
This driver is perfect for someone who hits the ball too high with tour style balls. It lowered my ball flight to a mid-low trajectory with a tailing fade at the end. I'd like to get it reshafted with a heavier shaft for a little more control, but that just shows that you should really get fitted for every club you buy.

Titleist 909D3 9.5 Ozik Xcon 5

by mosesgolf on November 17, 2009
Pros:
Very long and very long, low spin
Cons:
not forgiving
Rating:
This was a great club. It hit very long, relatively straight. It was one of the longer drivers I hit this year. The Xcon is a great shaft on this head. Neutral biased. Lower launch and lower spin vs 909D2.

Best of the Best...No screws or wrenches needed

by JBS1216 on November 19, 2009
Pros:
Classic shape, Perfect sound, and feel is solid, forgiving, workable, long high bombs, without ballooning.
Cons:
7.5* should be an option....

I have had the 909D3 for 11 months and will not go away from it. I have tried every club out there including the 909D2, R9, and FT9 none even come close to sounding, feeling and launching like this club. I replaced the stock Matrix X-con shaft with the Matrix F7M2 and transformed this club from Great to Irreplaceable. There is more than enough forgiveness built into this club and the 440cc head and Charcoal grey finish boast classic looks. Some may say the 905r was the best offering from Titleist but that's because they haven't been properly fit into a 909. There is no doubt that once you put this club in your bag it will stay there. I am an equipment junkie but the driver stays....

A little disappointing.... still prefer the 905 series Drivers.

by cantill2 on December 13, 2009
Pros:
Forgiving, good looking club, mid to low spin.
Cons:
Expensive, 0.5 degree open, not workable, not as long as 905.

Hi folks, I am a Titleist fan and always have been. When it comes to drivers, you can't find a better brand that gives you tour performance! The 909 D3 is a good driver. Unfortunately, I do not think the 909 is as good as the 905 series drivers that Titleist released in 2006. First off, the absence of the bore through on the D3 makes this club head feel very feathery and light. You don't get the workability of this club like you do with the 905 series drivers. In particular, I love the 905S and will probably never replace this driver in my bag. Titleist has given in and made big driver heads that feel and play more like a TaylorMade. I got fitted for various shafts - tried the V2, Mitsubishi JavlnFX M7, the Pro Launch Red, and even the Diamana Whiteboard. My 905 still outperforms this club any day of the week!! In fact, I recently sold my 909 D3 on E-bay because I do not get the "tour" performance and long bombs like I do with my 905. I guess this driver is just not for me. Be careful... if you play the 905R or the 905S, I would not rush to buy the D3 without carefully trying it and comparing it to your current driver. =

Great Stick!!

by Guest on March 20, 2010
Pros:
-low spin, flat trajectory, LONG
Cons:
-would've liked to see a little heavier stock shaft option
Rating:
Demoed several drivers on the launch monitor at the range. Hit the i15, R9 Super Tri TP, Cobra S2, and the 909 D3. I was looking for something that would provide a lower launch/spin than the Ping Rapture that I am currently hitting (9* w/ stock TFC stiff shaft).
Both the i15 and 909 D3 gave me the ball flight/spin rate I was looking for. Even though (on avg.) my club head speed w/ the 909 D3 was 2-3 mph slower, I found my ball speed and carry distance to be a little higher with this club.
Both drivers (Ping/Titleist) set up extremely well, and performed/felt as I expected after reading/hearing what others had to say. I ordered the 909 D3 w/ an x-stiff Titleist Aldila Voodoo.
swing speed: 109 mph

Purchased a 909D3 8.5 degree with Diamana Whiteboard September 2009. I spent over five hours on a launch monitor testing various drivers with various shafts and this provided the best spin rate, launch angle for me.
I am a strong player, but not a true hitter - I have always hit the ball really high with all my clubs. This driver shaft combination totally takes away the high right miss that was so prevalent with my prior drivers. When hit properly this driver/shaft is plenty long. Lastly, the driver does not create much side spin, even on the bad swings - it goes straight left or straight right (and even straight down the middle when done right).
I recommend this driver.
