As hybrids continue to grow in popularity, PING engineers continue to push technology
to advance hybrid versatility and performance. Improvements in shape, sole design
and internal weighting properties make hybrids easier to hit and give you more
options to blend the right combination of hybrids into your set.

Great all-round hybrid for people looking for a wood substitute.
by Guest on July 27, 2009
Pros: Forgiving, Good Trajectory, great shaft options.
Cons: Not a good iron substitute
Rating: If you're looking for a iron substitute, you may want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a higher-trajectory club to replace a low iron, this club is ideal. I've found this club to be great from the rough, and very consistent distance wise. I've found it to be very workable, but as a result it has a tendency to wonder right a little more than other hybrids I've used if you cut across the ball. All in all, it's a great club for a player looking for a forgiving middle-ground between irons and woods.
Pros: Very forgiving. Consistent results. Great looking.
Cons: None.
Rating: As I state in all my reviews, this club is excellent FOR ME and gets a rating of 5 stars, FOR ME. Clubs and results are highly opinionated in golf and what works for one, may not work for another.
I tried a Callaway Diablo Hybrid and couldn't hit the club at all. I then tried a 21 deg Ping hybrid and an Adams 18 deg. After being hooked up to the computer at my local store, I found that I was hitting the Ping further than the 18 deg Adams, and straighter.
I love this club. It delivers consistent results over and over.
I stated in my title that it is great looking. Personally, I feel the look of a club is important for confidence. The Ping resembles a fairway wood, which I like, and just feels confident to me.
Great club for me.
Pros: Versatility from tee and virtually any other lie.
Cons: None
Rating: After trying numerous hybrids I can honestly say that I believe this is the best hybrid out there. It is not a hook machine like many hybrids as well having the raised heel and toe that doesn't get caught up in the rough like other more boxy designs. The size is also very confidence inspiring unlike other hybrids that have the sweet spot the size of a dime this club has a large sweet spot. It is also very long and doesn't balloon. I truly thing this is the perfect hybrid. 100% worth the current discounted price tag!
Very easy to use and true as anything I've ever used.
Cons:
None

I had almost given up on hybrids to serve my purposes, that is until the G10 came out. I tried a 23* with some skepticism and low and behold it was almost magic. After 3-4 rounds with it in play, I decided to try 2 other G10 hybrids. They all work so well for me till I almost feel like I'm cheating whenever I use one of these.
My buddies don't put much stock in what I say about clubs, as being the ho I am, I'm always changing. Well, the G10 has changed a few of their minds. They realize I may actually know something about clubs and their performance.
I plan to keep this in the bag for a couple or three years (we'll see) until something else catches my fancy. Till then, I'm a happy camper when I pull one of these out of the bag.
Wide sole makes it very nice in the rough. As with all Pings, it is very durable!
Cons:
Some people may not like the big head. The color is not my favorite.
Rating:
The setup at address is confidence inspiring due to a larger than normal head. People that like traditional looks may not like the silver band that is towards the face. It sets up very nicely though.
The clubhead cuts through long rough and launches the ball out. There is a small metal click when it pure. The club is very versitile: fairway, rough, and my favorite - off the tee. Aside from my putter, I probably use these hybrids the most in a round due to versitility. They are great for low punch shots out from under trees.
Trajectory is a little high, but that is ok on approach shots. All my shots that land on the green do just that: land on the green.
Have a 24* hybrid that replaces my 4 iron. I love this club more and more each I use it, out of the rough, long par 3's. par 5's to lay up. Put a nice easy swing and a nice little draw for me. Shaft with this hybrid is the proforce hybrid shaft @ 86 grs. Very stable shaft for me.
I have a 3 and 4, shafted with the Proforce V2. Terrific combo. Good distance and relatively forgiving. I really like the compact head. It is workable and great from the fairway or rough. I much prefer these to my Adams A3 Boxers. Better feel (the A3's almost have no feel- which I don't like).
I tried all sorts of hybrids, but never found one that I felt comfortable using. These are easy to hit. The shape & size is more like a mini-wood than a fat iron.
Looks closed at adress which may not appeal to all
Rating:
A highly forgiving club. Very straight and long, even on off centre hits. I find this club appear slightly closed at adress. This help keep my fade in check but may not appeal to all.
Only grip is I am not a big fan of the latest ping headcovers.
Was looking for TM hybrid to match my equipment setup and was fitted to these. The result was unbelievable (through launch monitor). Trajectory was perfect and I keep hitting baby draw right down the middle. Dispersion on my misses was tight, stupid easy to hit, one of the most forgiving hybrids out there. If you're in the market for a hybrid, at least try hitting these a few times.
Very easy to hit from most any lie. Nice feel and like the slightly higher trajectory.
Cons:
Can hook fairly easily if not careful.
Rating:
I like this hybrid a little better than the Nickent (out of business) and for the $$ this is a steal. I have 4 of these, from 21* to 32* and would never go back to the equilavent irons they've replaced. I only carry 7-PW in my irons and feel very confident when I'm using my hybrids.
These clubs have taken 4 strokes off my game after 1/2 season. Once my back is "healed" I anticipate a bigger drop. They instill so much confidence that even when not using them for a particular shot, my confidence is just so much higher and it feels great knowing I will probably make most of the shots I attempt.
These are green finders and get out of rough better than any of my irons or fairway woods.
If in doubt, demo one if you can, I think you'll agree with my assessment.
